That Sucks, Big Time

Cheryl made a tactical error that cost her a whole bunch of files. She didn’t double-check that the files had transferred over from one hard drive to another and she lost all the files. Here’s hoping that she put aside a copy of her website, or she’ll be redoing all of that, too. Luckily, Der Reizen was already transferred over in another set of files. There are some files still on the old computer. She could link them and pick up the majority of the files she missed. It’s still going to be a bugger of a day tomorrow, trying to get everything set up just so. She spent most of today transferring files and getting hard drives sorted out.

Another thing she did today was go pick up some clothes. Myrtle had been given a gazillion boxes of clothes and Cheryl went through a few of them. She came home with a mountain of clothes for herself, Petra picked up some and Marie was invited over to pick up some more. That’s her summer wardrobe taken care of, and part of her winter one, too. She’s got shorts and t-shirts, and a couple of sweaters and a gazillion pairs of slacks and sweats. There was even a winter coat with a hood that fit her, much to her surprise. And that’s only the tip of the boxes that have to be gone through, too. She may go back tomorrow, but more likely, she’ll let someone else know about the boxes. They’re supposed to be for everyone on the block, not just Myrtle.

There are a few things that need doing tomorrow, but Cheryl may just play hooky, she says, and go downtown for coffee. I know she’s considering getting a few more nightdresses, but there may not be any at the Sally Ann. She’s still looking for curtains for the front window. We sorta did a number on them. Well, we as in the others and I. We needed more spots to look out of. It’s a perfectly natural response, don’t you think? For a cat, I mean.

The two little kittens have settled down, somewhat. They’re not tearing apart the house any more – they’re tearing apart each other. On the plus side, the growling between the older cats and the kittens has stopped for the most part. Smoky’s still not impressed, but she’ll come around. She always does.

Well, it’s getting late and Cheryl looks like she’s finished her cup of tea. Bedtime, I think. ‘Bout time, too!
