Wow! It’s Been A While!

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve updated this blog, hasn’t it? Not much has really been happening. Cheryl figured out the problem with her computer. It was her monitor that went, not the computer, so she uses an old monitor that Casey loves to sleep on. He’s happy.

Cheryl’s also taking to poking her fingers a lot. Seems she has diabetes and has to go on a diet, among other things. Shame, though. She doesn’t eat as much meat as she used to, so there’s not as much leftovers for us. But, if it makes her healthy, who am I to argue?

We have a guest staying with us for a while. Cinnamon, Gloria’s cat, is here until Gloria finds a new home where she can have cats. Cinnamon started out being very cranky with us and quite shy. She ‘lives’ in the spare room and goes out with us in the mornings. These days, thankfully, she’ll have her treats on the stairs and Casey and I will have treats in the living room. It’s easier to do these days, too.

Cheryl has been on a knitting/crocheting kick the past couple of months so Casey and I have new basket and kennel blankets and a new one for the couch. Cheryl has also been doing dishcloths, towels and squares that got mailed off. She’s in the middle of doing a bath towel (knitted), a cover for the arm of the couch to match the blanket (crocheted) and some more crocheted squares. She works on the squares when I’m laying down on her arm cover and the knitting when we go out first thing in the morning, or when she goes to babysit for Maggie.

She doesn’t babysit that much for Maggie these days. The kids are back to school, which is nice, but they’re also getting just a tad too ugly for Cheryl to be able to tolerate. She comes back here, sits down and knits for a while, muttering “I will not kill them. I will not kill them.”

That’s Cheryl’s new motto, too, she says. “I crochet because I’m a happy hooker but I knit to keep from killing people.” I dunno about that. Those knitting needles look awfully sharp.

Well, it’s time to go investigate the repaired curtains from the back of the couch. Well, not really repaired. Cheryl and Petra just hemmed them up a lot so they don’t drag on the couch. It’s darker in here when it should be and light enough to see by when the sun’s really bright. Cheryl can see the monitor in the afternoons now.

Nap time! Toodles!
